What’s The Ideal Holiday For The Wine Lover Inside You? Any CA Winery!

My ideal of your vacation has got to do not just lounging around feeling good. A vacation should truly titillate all my senses. Fresh breeze on my skin, warm Sun overhead and myriad sensations on my every centimeter of my palate. What better way to realize all of these than the usual vacation exploring California wineries? Fancy visiting some, or these wineries; Napa Valley, Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, Temecula, Mendocino, Sonoma, Santa Ynez, Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Marin County!
I finally worn-out my bi weekly vacation checking Mendocino CA winery and the Napa Valley CA winery. I’ll catch up with the list later!
My trip to tranquil and romantic Mendocino was peaceful. This wine and food country is beautiful, the gourmet your meals are incredible along with the lodging is exquisite. It’s all to easy to visit wineries in this region. Just follow Highway 128 that winds with the Yorkville Highlands and the Anderson Valley.
I picnicked at Boonville and visited the Navarro and Greenwood wineries. A walk inside the Navarro River Redwoods State Park over the Navarro River could be the stuff perfect memories are made from.
Sleepy little Hopland, the hub of the wine country, is all of three blocks long and boasts of six tasting rooms, two gourmet restaurants, and the historic 1890 Hopland Inn within that tiny stretch. Surrounded by several valleys that grow many grape varietals, the location is dotted with secret little vineyards in the Senal Valley, Redwood Valley, and Potter Valley among several others.
Napa Valley is home to a number of the finest Chardonnays, Cabernets and Merlots you ever tasted. The best way to go to Napa wineries is as simple as the Napa Valley Wine Train! This nine-car train goes all the way up from Napa to St Helena, passing through several exquisite wineries where one can stop for any taste. I booked a lunch ride with this historic railroad and that i enjoyed the breathtaking scenery, along with the spectacular food onboard paired with, obviously, homegrown Napa wines!
I visited several Napa and Sonoma wineries including Roche, Viansa, Sebastiani, and Buena Vista (the oldest winery in California still operational).
I stayed in the Bardessono hotel in downtown Yountville, a whole planet-friendly ‘green’ hotel with 62 luxurious guest rooms and in-room spa services. An execllent experience to increase my growing list.
So many CA winery varietals, those to taste?! Do you know what they are saying, there’s a wine for every single palate? Everybody knows that California Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot are still quite possibly the most popular varietal wines produced in CA wineries. That’s its not all. Winegrowers and vintners still cater to the growing thirst for diverse varietals. A fantastic 48 varietals are actually available, notably Grenache, Gewurztraminer, Muscat/Moscato, Petite Sirah, Pinot Gris/Grigio, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo, Viognier.
My vacation finally ended. A fortnight brimming with long, sunny, warm days and cool evenings spent tasting an expressive range of subtly flavored wines at historic CA wineries. Walking through endless vineyards of beautiful multi-colored grapes begging to get plucked. Driving through beautiful rolling hillsides and small valleys and long wine trails along blue seascapes – it doesn’t improve than this, should it?
